Photo_EvanI am a political science doctoral candidate with Syracuse University’s Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, where I have been a Fulbright Presidential PhD Scholar (201-15). I am also a researcher with the Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in Jakarta, Indonesia.

I have held fellowships as well as research and visiting positions at the Lowy Institute for International Policy (Sydney, Australia), the German Marshall Fund of the United States (Washington, D.C.), and the Centre for Non-Traditional Security Studies as well as the Institute of Defence and Strategic Studies, both located within Nanyang Technological University’s S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies (Singapore).

I have taught at the Indonesian Defense University, Indonesian Air Force Staff and Command and College, and Parahyangan Catholic University. I also received additional training in social science methodology, military operations, and security cooperation from Syracuse University’s Institute for Qualitative and Multi-Method Research (IQMR), University of Michigan’s ICPSR Summer Program in Quantitative Methods of Social Research, Columbia University’s Summer Workshop on the Analysis of Military Operations and Strategy (SWAMOS), and U.S. DoD’s Asia Pacific Center for Security Studies in Honolulu. I hold a MA in Political Science from Syracuse University, a MS in Strategic Studies from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, and a BA in political science from Parahyangan Catholic University, Indonesia.
